Winter Storm Watch Issued For The Urban Corridor For Tonight Through Saturday Morning…
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon. By sunset… gusty northeast winds will usher in much colder air to the area and the precipitation will change over to snow. Due to strong upslope flow… the snow will be heavy at times in areas near the foothills and in the southern suburbs near the Palmer Divide. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches will be possible in these areas… with substantially lesser amounts east of I-25. The snow will be heavy and wet… causing a sizable threat to outdoor vegetation.
Of course, that could mean three flakes and two drops for us, but it makes me glad I have today off.

Must be nice…
It’s not a company holiday de jure, but on an office-by-office basis most work a long Friday the week before to make up the hours for this Friday. (We’re on a 9-9-9-9-4 schedule, so if we work an 8 the preceding Friday, we end up with 40 hours for both weeks, since our work week ends at Noon Friday.)
At the Flats we had a 9-9-9-9-8/9-9-9-9-0 schedule and it was wonderful to be able to get the Friday off every other week to get stuff done that you would normally have to take time off to get done.
Some folks at my office work that sort of schedule out of the 4-9s-and-a-4. Hell, some folks work 4×10, though that gets to be a bit much, I’d think.
We ended up, for the record, with about 2-3 inches of pretty wet, heavy snow, none of which stuck to the roads. We can use all we can get.
