Turns out, for some reason, the Paint Police (a/k/a our HOA’s “Architectural Control Committee”) never got the mailed-in application for our new siding, etc. Which is why they’d never contacted us back, of course. Hrm.
When we confirmed that by phone, the gal who’s in charge of Paint and Siding Stuff scheduled a visit by our house the next day. And, sure as shooting, there she was.
Nice lady. Very friendly. Complemented us on our landscaping (which, coming from the Paint Police, which also monitors such things, is, I guess, even higher praise). And was impressed that we’d made a copy (heh) of our application.
We chatted a bit, described the siding we were getting, colors, and so forth. She had a few concerns over white trim with the wood-tone siding, but we’re going to clarify those, and she gave us the verbal approval to proceed.
Huzzah!
Now it’s just a matter of calling up the siding people, clarifying a few issues, and getting things scheduled …
