I’m way behind in getting pictures posted, and will try to do something about that this afternoon. (I have this sinking feeling that, like John Kerry’s announced plans for what he’ll do with the “tax cut for the rich” rollback, I’ve committed my time for this afternoon about a dozen times over — we’ll see.)

I may actually get home to discover they’ve finished up. They’ve got it about 90% finished, with the exception of the front window box. Next step will be, next week, the touch-up painter coming out and (a) touching up the nails and plank edges with a matching color, and (b) painting the windowframes white.

Maybe white. We’re still going around about what colors do use. Upon consideration, the current burgundy trim on the fascia boards is not a good match, but we also have the window frames, the garage door, the downspouts, and the soffits. If we do the trim in white, what do we do the facia and soffits in? I’m thinking a middle cream/grey that complements the siding — which is, inconveniently, both too rich and too light. Get some paint that matches the siding for the garage and downspouts …

So, that gives us the house, garage, and downspouts in the light wood tone, the window and door frames in white, and the soffits and fascia in grey. Maybe. If Margie agrees. And the Paint Police HOA.

Of course, we could also do the (need to order a new one) garage door in the grey, too. Subject to the HOA, too.

Don’t ask me about the deck …

*sigh*
