More news on the various tweaks, edits, changes, and other “enhancements” George Lucas is making in the New, Improved, No, Really, This Time DVD set of the original Star Wars trilogy. No big surprises, for anyone following the news along, but confirmation that, yes, the Anakin Skywalker the Friendly Ghost at the end of Jedi is now played by Hayden Christensen (though Sebastian Shaw still shows up as the Man Under the Mask, now digitally enhanced, evidently).
Oh, and Greedo still shoots first.

Well good.
Something I don’t need to spend money on. Now I need to find somebody that has a laser disk and make a copy off of that.
I think what annoys me almost as much as the tweaking is that I have to keep multiple copies of the films just to have the “originals.” Rrg.
George Lucas’s tampering with his own work is worse the colorizing black and white movie classics. And the explanation for why Obi-Wan is an old man when Anakin now looks younger because he returned to “his original identity” is ridiculous. By making these changes and angering fans in the process, Lucas ensures that piracy of previous VHS/laser disk versions will continue.
Grr!
