Went to the fall golf tourney my parish holds today, down at Deer Creek where we played last year. Like last year, we played a scramble format< which meant that it was a much nicer time for duffers like me -- we scored 6 under par as a foursome, with various purchased mulligans and "gimme" string.
Lots of fun. And probably about twelve balls lost, by me. Though I got a free sleeve of 3, and found 4 others.
As part of the parish, any of the proceeds go to outreach charity programs, totalling about $2500. Not too shabby.
My game was decidedly mediocre, especially in the middle stretches, when balls were flying off in all directions — and I mean all directions. I managed to eventually pull things back more reasonably by slowing down my backswing and pulling the foreswing through (instead of pushing it), but it was still not one of my best rounds.
On the other hand, despite having a electric cart, I managed to get quite a bit of walking done. Thus, quack. ![]()
