If you can’t say something nice …

Okay, this is probably going to be the biggest display of my ego in a single post for some time, but I have to admit to a fascination with how folks responded to the “Say something about how cool you are” meme. And since I doubt I’ll ever have a book dust jacket talking about how cool I am, or that such a gathering of things will ever be collected in such a fashion until my funeral (at which time I expect I’ll be busy with other things), I just have to collect them here.

Forgive me for the raw narcissism. Feel free to move on to something else …

In my post of this (which didn’t require people to say nice things about me), Ian said: ***Dave is cool because he’s modest about his use of stars. He writes the most level-headed analyses of the world around us, even if I don’t always agree with his views, in a way that is very digestible by the lay person.

In Doyce’s rendition (which turned into a huge hug fest — not that there’s anything wrong with that):

• Jackie said: Dave is just about the best human being I know.
• Doyce said: Dave always tries to wear a t-shirt that matches our weekend activities.
• Boulder Dude called me: Jean Val Jean.
• De admired: Dave’s puns, which are bad enough to make me laugh, but not so bad I have to leave the room, a nice distinction. He also [referring to our writing activities] eateth of the constructive criticism before noon.

Ian opined in his own blog: *** Dave is cool because he keeps up on the cutting edge of blogging, which means that maybe a year after he’s added something to his site, I might add it to mine.

Steve suggested: ***Dave is cool because he says Queen and Country is cool?and he?s right!

And I think that’s all I spotted (or kept track of).

Amazing. A man could possibly get a swelled head (were it not oversized already).
