Since I’d picked up Katherine early from pre-school (after recovering the car from the shop), we went for a “bike walk” around the block. It was bite-ass cold, but she really wanted to do it, and I had no problem with that.

The bike she got for Christmas is distinctly too tall for her, but the training wheels make up for that. She’s getting good about braking (almost too good — she needs to learn to coast more), and was better than ever at pumping the bike up the hill on the the backstretch; she still needs a nudge here and there, but her legs are getting stronger.

Part of the fun is going up to the cul-de-sac behind us and going around in circles, which she does quite well.

As I said, quite cold, but still memorably fun.
