And now the Pope has passed away.

Say what you will about his theology — and I have, and there were elements of it that I disagreed with vehemently, along with their real-world results — Pope John Paul II was a man of deep and abiding faith, and a man who was willing to put his life behind it, both in his dedication and in the risks he was willing to take. He was a brave and good man, and I trust that his reward will be great.
