Cold, drizzly, even snowy weather this weekend. Lots of good moisture for the plants, though.

Beginning to get into a more serious framework for the front steps. Did some driving around the neighborhood, and saw some decent examples of what we want to do. Now we only need to decide (a) what exactly we want to do, (b) who we want to have do it, (c) how much it’s going to cost.

One of the questions is the breadth of the task. At a minimum, we need someone to run steps … but do we also want them to do the terracing, or do we do that ourselves? And do we want them to do the sprinkler system changes that will result, or will we do that, too?

*sigh*

Two unexpected home improvement jobs for the summer, though. Katherine manage to kick the pocket door to our WC off its track in a fit of pique, and now we can’t get it back on again. And the water heater in the basement started to leak (and thank heavens for the water alarm down there), so that needs to be replaced in the next week or so.

Just send money …
