Not much I can say about the Lutheran vote to restrict gays in their priesthood to only those being celibate, and to remain conflicted over same-sex blessings. Given all the brouhaha within the Episcopal Church on the matter over the last number of years, and the general alignment between ECUSA and ELCA, I can neither throw stones nor be too surprised. The vote was close, though, and the matter certainly won’t go away any time soon (and I suspect hopes for keeping the denomination intact over this are as problematic as they are with the Episcopalians).
