Ho-hum. Just means I have to change (in my address book) where I get my Subaru service done. And a bit of local color bites the dust.

  1. I find it funny really.

I remember it use to be such a HUGE thing that they even made nameplate that the could just sell to keep folks from stealing off of cars.

Basically I see it as a really bad marketing idea…huge are name recognition, you really didn’t hear any thing bad about them and now changing the dealshipnames to…..Go!

    *boggles*

The PR and marketing folks were on the first ship, correct? The useless 1/3 of the population?

  2. We do not accept dealership names glued/embedded on our cars. We always make that clear as part of the deal — and every time we have to keep reminding folks about it. (In one case, it delayed our taking delivery by a half hour, as they’d already slapped it on.)

Presumably either Elway asked for too much money, or AutoNation offered a reduced amount of money for the name. Or else some Young Turk suggested that they should forge some New, Improved Identity (Perhaps One Based on an Ancient Japanese Strategy Game).
