… I’ll link back to a very nice recent post by Doyce — Your god, your car, and you … and me. “Your religion (or, more broadly, your faith) is like your car …”
I like it very much.
As for me — well, yeah, I have a great big staid, conservative boat of a something-or-another, old-fashioned in style and with way too many bells and whistles on the dash for some tastes … but I’ve done some serious tinkering under the hood to tweak the performance, soup up the horsepower, help the mileage a lot, and generally vastly improve the ride over something just off the lot (at least to my taste). A few parts from here, a bit of something I read in an article, replacing some of the components whole with stuff I picked up along the road — it’s pretty much violated the warranty, I’m sure, but as long as I’m willing to take responsibility for maintaining it myself, I think I can keep it running …
This post makes me smile. 🙂
