I’m playing with some different ideas of how to break up these potpourri posts — which seem to have become a large percentage of what I’m putting out here, unfortunately.
The serious stuff:
- The Fiscal Fairy – How McCain’s numbers don’t add up. (Yeah, most like Obama’s numbers don’t add up, either, but McCain portrays himself as a fiscal conservative, which makes him a bigger target for calculations that go beyond fuzzy into tattered.)
- More Inhumanity – Yes, I feel much, much safer, knowing that institutionalized American torture of prisoners is the true legacy of Bush’s War on Terror.
- Viacom Letter to EFF re Google/YouTube Data Privacy – Viacom and Google have reached an agreement on anonymizing and securing the YouTube viewing data that a court ordered the latter to hand over to the former.
- You Bought It, But You Don’t Own It – Ruling in the WOW case. See, you have no rights if it’s a software license, not something you actually bought and own. What makes it a license? Why, the publisher saying so, natch.
The not-so-serious stuff:
- Smaug: the Diary of a 30th Level Minion – Actually, while counter-intuitive, it makes tremendous cinematic sense in a game.
- Woman struck by lightning while shooting video – Yikes!
- N&Ns – Oh, my, this does create some possibilities.
