I loved “Them.” So 1950s. Didn’t see “Time Machine” or “War of the Worlds” until I was older so not really scared, but love them. Especially the sound of the alien crafts.
1. I’ve never been a big RHPS fan. I’ll let Margie share that one with her.
2. Holy crap, Silent Running is one of the most depressing films out there (albeit one of the few were Bruce Dern gets to be the hero, even while playing his usual psychotic role). On the bright side, music by Joan Baez and PDQ Bach. I have the DVD — I’ll let her pick it out when she’s ready.
\The Time Machine\ scared the dickens out of me when I was a little kid.
It does have some scary moments. I recall finding the accelerated-rotting Morlock to have been particularly creepy.

Oh, the swan-necked Martian war machines are worth sitting through the movie for just in and of themselves.
Yeah! Beautiful, elegant design. And some good lines in that movie as well.
Too young for the Rock Horrow Show though…
Mind you, at this rate by the time she is old enough she will be the only one in her age group that will get all the references!
Silent Running- show her silent running, then point out it predates Wall-e by about 35 years.
Personally I have always been a big fan of Outland, but its not really a ‘girls’ film.
