Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Sharron Angle’s Tea Party Agenda Gets A Drastic Makeover – Clearly feeling the heat (and hoping nobody will notice).
- Drudge falsely claims Google is going to “pay gay employees more than straights” | Media Matters for America – I think that when you use that word first in a headline, the second two words naturally write themselves.
- 7/2: Don’t Know Much About History? : Home of the Marist Poll: Pebbles and Pundits – We had a lot of fun this week thanking the UK members of our team for helping make our long weekend possible. (Of course, if we’d stuck with them, we’d have more PTO and several extra “Bank Holidays,” but for once they’re working and we’re not.)
- What I remember most about LEGOs – The Oatmeal – Yup.
- One family, 30 years… – I’ve always admired folks who have the discipline to do this sort of thing. Fascinating.
- Always after me Lucky Charms … – Ah, Boulder … always good for a chuckle or two.
- Civil Rights Act of 1964 – Wikipedia – Signed into law 46 years ago today.

- When the shoe goes on the other foot — but it doesn’t fit – I think there’s plenty of ways to leverage Steele’s odd remarks other than sounding like the Bush/Cheney White House, fergoshsakes.
- “No Fly” With Me – The problem is, the No-Fly List is an incoherent collection of names, etc., from a variety of agencies and results, of often dubious quality, necessity, and accuracy — and there’s no way to comprehensively clean it up, if for no other reason than nobody wants to be the person who deletes that one actual terrorist’s name off of it by error. Bad database design, bad data management.
- Your Firefox in the cloud: Firefox Sync and Firefox Home – Not sure why I would change from Xmarks to Firefox Sync — esp. since the former also syncs bookmarks with Chrome and IE (and I use all three at various times).
- Brewer warns of immigrants and ‘beheadings’ – Beheadings? Really? Next thing you know, they’ll be saying that all those immigrants are seeking to infiltrate the country to do something REALLY awful — like, say, WATERBOARDING!
- What if there were iPods in 1977…? – I want one!
