Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Losing their heads – It’s the Big Lie — if you just keep repeating the same disputed and discredited statistics, people will assume … well, it’s just got to be true, right?
- CNN wildly underestimates Republicans – Because, love it or hate it, the GOP in Washington is really only interested in Scoring Points.
- Glenn Beck cares oh so much about history – Beck is either so batshit crazy that he doesn’t realize how clueless he is about history or hypocrisy … or he is, after all, just an entertainer and con-man, going with the outrageous because he knows that some will believe him and, more importantly, some will pay him for it.
- GOP Rep. Paul Broun wants to repeal the 16th and 17th amendments to reverse ‘socializing’ of America. – Apparently Teddy Roosevelt has joined the Axis of Presidential Evil alongside Woodrow Wilson and Barack Obama. I guess now we have to carve a different face on Mount Rushmore.
- The Facts About Poop – And knowing is half the battle!
- I Have Seen the Face of Horror, and It Eats Reese’s Pieces – Excellent.
- DC Team-Up: Lex Luthor and… Death? – Well, if Neil gave it his blessing. (Funny – the last page of all the DC comics this week had this, with Death silhouetted, and I thought … “Nah, couldn’t be …”)
- Topless Robot – The Old Spice Guy Wants to Be Luke Cage – I can certainly think of worse casting.
- Kirk Stole Spock’s Bicycle – This is pretty damned funny.
- The Horror Of Asking For Data – “How dare they ask us to substantiate the unsubstantiated claims we use to gull people into buying our stuff? It’s so UNFAIR!”
- USS Olympia – Very sad.
- 16th Street Mall, Montrose and Trinidad win federal transit grants – The Denver Post – Huzzah!
- The “Irrational Prejudice” Behind DOMA | People For the American Way Blog – Bravo, Judge Tauro. Well said.
- Think Progress » Bachmann Agrees With Radio Host’s Description Of Berwick As ‘Chairman Of The Obamacare Death Panel’ – You know, it’s things like this that make my blood pressure rise dangerously … which means I’m probably doomed when I get hauled before a Death Panel in the middle of the night …
- U.S. has now lost 75 percent of Guantanamo habeas cases | McClatchy – “Look, they’re releasing terrorists!” I’m sure someone will say. No, they’re releasing people accused of being terrorists because there’s insufficient grounds to think they are terrorists. “See, the courts are soft on terrorists!” No, the courts are hard on accusing people of being terrorists and locking them away without sufficient basis to do so. That should make everyone HAPPY.

Oh….Death in the DCU? And Lex Luther? I may have to buy it.
Luthor. LuthOR. Get it right, you imbecile.
(Sorry, channeling The Man himself there.)
Death in the DCU is not beyond the Pale, of course. The earlier issues of Sandman, even though a Vertigo imprint, had cross-overs from the JLA. Heck, during “The Wake,” after Dream’s death, three big JLAers show up.
BATMAN: “The one I hate is where I’m just an actor on a strange television version of my life. Have you ever had that dream?”
SUPERMAN: “Doesn’t everyone?”
MARTIAN MANHUNTER: “I don’t.”
