That said, this is a fascinating look at Webster and the folks he hangs out with. The “Taliban Dan” title may be warranted, even if not by the ad Grayson ran.

- Atheist America – Actually, my suspicion is that the general religiosity of the majority will continue to to significantly and fundamentally dwindle (though for reasons more prosaic than the Atheist Revolution), while the religiosity of a sizable minority will become greater, and (within a substantial subgroup) more strident and radical.

- Christine O’Donnell Says She Didn’t Write Her LinkedIn Profile – Yyyyeah … because a modern political candidate doesn’t vet all the info about them out on the Intertubes — especially on key sites like LinkedIn — early on in their campaign. I think Ms O’Donnell is being less than honest in her scapegoating (just as she’s being both less than honest and genuinely silly in her student loan biz criticism).

2. As an OTR (Old-Time Radio) buff, I note that Alan Reed, Jean Vander Pyl, Bea Benaderet, and Mel Blanc all work extensively in radio during its golden years. I have heard Alan Reed on The Shadow and Duffy’s Tavern, and Bea Benaderet and Mel Blanc had recurring characters on Jack Benny’s show.
5. Care to predict when an avowed atheist will be able to run a viable campaign for the presidency? I expect I will not live to see the day.
9. I listen to a lot of podcasts on my phone while working, so the battery often gets low enough for the phone to warn me. It lets me see what processes have been sucking the battery dry, and I have been surprised to see that an app I wasn’t using accounted for 15% of the usage the other day! A friend had suggested Advanced Task Killer, but I abandoned it quickly. I think I will now try the free version of Watchdog. Next… to root or not to root. I really want to, but I am afraid of bricking my phone.
2. Not at all surprising. Especially for voice artists, I’d expect that sort of career arc.
5. I think we will see major party primary candidates by 2024. I don’t expect to see a nomination until 2036, nor an election until 2044. And, yes, the atheism will be a factor.
9. I’ve been doing okay with battery life lately, but I also tend to plug in my phone whenever possible. I, too, am apprehensive about rooting my phone. I’ll need to know better some folks who have done it with Androids before taking that particular plunge.
I am apprehensive because a co-worker rooted my phone for me when I first got it, and it messed up the phone! He had to reinstall the original OS. And he’s savvy; he wrote RingRandom (it’s on the market) and now works for a company as an Android software programmer. I fear what I could do, being inept. Still, I really want to be able to install apps to my SD card.
Yeah, I keep hearing stories about how simple it is, and I keep thinking of how easy it would be to screw things up, now or in the future. Nor have I found a compelling reason to do it yet.
