My dictionary (Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 10th ed.) shows both definitions for “problematic,” with “posing a problem : difficult to solve or decide” being listed before “not definite or settled : UNCERTAIN.”
Huh. You are correct (and many other online dictionary sources concur). I had always been taught otherwise.
