- On our way to Paestum. Thus far no strikes, no meteor swarms, no plagues of locusts blocking our way. #
- Per driver strikes to continue thru 6/2; if you get past tunnels by 10, you're gold. So, early rising day after tomorrow for Florence drive. #
- Paestum was (ticket issues, short time, exhausted batteries aside) faboo. Three huge Greek temples, lots of other Greco-Roman ruined. #
- Now doing lunch at an agritourism farm – local ingredient food plus local wine. Molto bono! #
- We've been drinking Agnelico and Taurasi wines here all week. Want to continue to do so once back home. #
- I'm sitting here eating figs! And buffalo ricotta! And loving it! MADNESS! #
- 15 minutes to Kay's long-awaited horseback ride … AND THE HEAVENS OPEN UP! Eek. #
- But the swallows sure seem excited. #
- Yum! RT @MargieKleerup: Wow! Buffalo ricotta – you won't find that at Ralph's. Rich and creamy. Michelle says "I want to stuff some pasta." #
- In Italy, "I'll be back in 10 minutes" is more a rough order of magnitude (10-100 min) than an actual schedule. #
- Horseback riding down country lanes, along fields, through woods: a blast. And five minutes after we were back in car, THE DELUGE. #
- Lots of nets in fruit groves. Nets over the lemon trees to protect blossoms, fruit fr weather, nets under olive trees to catch fruit. #
- Looks like early-early departure fr villa tomorrow for trip to Pompeii & Herculaneum, to beat the ongoing strike action. #
- My company forbids people driving while being on a cell phone. I think Italy forbids people driving *without* being on a cell phone. #
- My tailbone has not been happy with all the sitting on planes and vans. Apparently sitting on a horse was not a great improvement. #
- Long day, very tired, stuck in traffic in Salerno. Ugh. #
- Huzzah! RT @meoswell: Paperwork done- Italian bureaucracy the best since they really invented it. Wedding June 1. #

You might find buffalo ricotta at Whole Foods (or its equivalent) or a Cheese Shoppe (where they actually DO carry cheese)
Yay for a 1st June wedding!
I’ll be thinking of the happy couple & attendant friends the evening before (and later, depending on how long I’m up, as I expect you are nine hours ahead).
Will this be a restaurant wedding, from Bench W? Will the officiating Judge (if it’s a civil wedding) be blind? Will there be a tape with a blank spot the length of the wedding ceremony?
I’m not a huge buffalo (water buffalo!) ricotta fan, myself, so I won’t be searching it out. Margie might, though …
I’ll pass on the kind thoughts. Stay tuned (in a few days) …
