Big reorg within our corporate IT group announced today — basically shuffling folks and services around to provide better service, more opportunities, etc.
In practical terms, it means my current boss (with whom I’ve worked for eight years now) is shifting to oversee another department, to be replaced with another of the CIO’s direct reports with whom I’ve worked before. My own team is mostly intact, though one of my managers lost a big chunk of his portfolio and staff.
My position remains secure (or so I am assured), but there are some opportunities for other positions in the IT org that I might dust off my resume and apply for when they are formally opened. I’ve been overseeing my current portfolio, more or less, for six years now, and it would be a good opportunity to change things up a bit.

Ooh! Maybe they will make you the Preventer of Information Services!
(Note: the strips are in reverse order.)
Nah, looks like too much work.
