Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Romney Flips To Denial: ‘We Don’t Know What’s Causing Climate Change’ | ThinkProgress – Romney is such a hack it isn’t even funny. He’s flopping around wildly, hoping to appeal to one audience after the next, and, as a result, blows his credibility even further. Cain and Perry have been just as bad.
- Happy 125th birthday, Statue of Liberty! – Huzzah!
- Why I Love and How I Use Google Reader – Yes. This. Are you listening, Google? (I note that there’s been dead silence from Google this week since the Reader/Plus announcements last week.)
- Google+ adds powerful photo editing suite, free – I don’t plan on making Google+ (or, at this point, Picasa) my photo repository of choice (that’s Flickr), but for spot posting of pictures for G+, this seems like a nice added value.
- GOP now claiming that “they” are the ones defending the social safety net – To paraphrase the military quip from Vietnam, “We had to destroy the safety net in order to save it …”
- Texas Concealed Handgun Class Not Available To “Socialist Liberal[s] And Non-Christian Arabs” – What an ass-hat.
- How Occupy has shifted the national debate – Boing Boing – I think this is a very healthy sign … if it lasts.
- Why I’m not more active in the atheist community. « Stupid Evil Bastard – Being a leader in any sort of group or community is damned hard work, and the payoff can be difficult to see in the face of the problems and conflicts it engenders. I deeply respect Les’ self-evaluation of what he’s will to put into such things (and what he’s not), and am more than happy to simply ramble along in our intermittent podcasts.
- Timeline: Cain’s Offers His Fifth Position On Abortion, Now Allows Exceptions For Rape Or Incest | ThinkProgress – Obviously he’s given it a lot of thought.
