It is a tragedy. Nothing less. The distribution of highly relevant content and micro-content to every social media platform in my network, via a single curated RSS Atom feed located on the Google Shared Reader page (http://www.themezoomreader.com) was simply the most efficient way to share well curated and concisely focused information on the planet. The removal of this function into a fractured one-off distribution system is a reduction of power to the individual user, by an order of magnitude- of which most people will never know. (smile) I have moved on and exported all items from reader. Again, remember, there IS no RSS feed for Google Plus One (I had to custom code mine). Google is REMOVING your power, not enhancing it . . . http://www.scoop.it/t/content-curation-is-not-social-media
@Russell I’m certainly not happy about it, and it’s made the Internet a less convenient and fun place to play in (which may be a blessing in disguised), but I’m not ready to call it a “tragedy.” There are plenty of much more real tragedies in life around us.
