So I've felt mildly sketchy over using GoDaddy as my domain registrar. Service-wise, they've been fine, but policy-wise they've been a growing nightmare (http://kottke.org/11/12/the-internets-go-daddy-issues). Their support for SOPA is the last straw for many, probably myself included.
So here's a guide for transferring domains from GoDaddy to someone else. The example uses NameCheap, but does anyone else have a domain registrar to recommend? #ddtb

NameCheap seems to have quite a few supporters out there.
I have been using Hosting Matters for my web host and domain registration for almost 10 years now. http://hostmatters.com/domains.html
I use HM as my host (and am very happy with them). My inclination is to keep my host and registrar separate, just from an eggs-in-one-basket kind of thing. But it’s certainly a thought.
Yup, I'm going to work on this over break. Their site full of ads and bullshit to sell has gotten beyond annoying, I've just been lazy. But this helps motivate.
Haven't reversed my intent to quit them, though.
Apparently they reversed their stand on SOPA – Power to the people! lol
