If it's a True Calling, in a Biblical Sense, then they'll do it for peanuts, which is both admirable and easy on the budget! It's a win-win!
The same could be said about a lot of things though… If you were really called to do something, anything, then you should be willing to not get paid as much or not paid at all…this isn't just for teaching it can be aimed at law-makers as well.
Ironically, McGill pushed forward a big pay raise for state law-makers — to help prevent corruption from their being underpaid, as he explained it.
