There's really no other explanation for this. At this point in time in Dubya's presidency, the average lag in judicial appointments going from the Senate Judiciary Committee to the floor was 24 days. Yet here are people who have been nominated and sent to the Senate, people who have good records, who are supported by their state Senators (Republican and Democrat), many who have no actual formal GOP opposition, who are simply being blocked by the GOP in the Judiciary Committee from consideration on the floor.
Why? Well, possibly to gum up the works, leave the federal courts under-manned (about 10% of all seats are currently vacant), and so grow discontent with the government and judiciary.
More likely to me is that the Senate GOP simply don't want Obama appointees in the judiciary. Good, bad, or indifferent, they simply Do Not Want. The courts are politics by other means, it seems. And current Senate rules allow them to get away with it, so why the heck not? Aside from it being bad governance, that is. Certainly it won't cost them any elections, sadly enough. #ddtb

Yet another case where the Dem’s have failed to learn the rules of the game.
They need to be in front of the TV camera’s every night screaming about how the GOP is being unamerican by not having up or down votes on the President’s nominee’s, just like the GOP did for 8 straight years.
