It's such a crazy process it's a wonder that anything decent gets on the air.
One thing this article points out is that the process would be a lot more sane if the networks didn't keep going after a "New Fall Season" launch. I'm sure that would have its disadvantages, too, but it sounds like creatively it would involves some real plusses.
