… albeit uncanny.
My problem is that I'll start conservative, then start adding 15 minute padding here and there, usually without realizing it. Fortunately, I have Margie to counterbalance me, usually. On the other hand, I've done the mad race for and through the airport, and that's even less fun than sitting at the gate for a while.

I'm a pretty seasoned traveller and have a good sense for how to time airport arrivals, etc, but when dealing with a city or airport I'm not familiar with I do add a lot of extra time for the unknown unknowns.
My feeling is it's always better and easier to be sitting around at the gate reading a book, than to be desperately driving/running to make the plane. I look on it as part of my lazy streak.
