I didn't expect … another Percy Jackson movie

The first one was … okay.  Kay was wildly into the books at the time, and the movie was really sort of a second-rate adaptation. Also, that was 2010, and I hadn't hard anything about a sequel being greenlit.

But, apparently … August.  Okay. I'm game.

  1. The first did marginally well enough, particularly overseas, to justify a sequel. There's been a number of 'meh' films that got sequels because they did well outside of the United States. On the plus side, Nathan Fillion will take on the role of Hermes in it replacing Dawson Creek's Dylan Neal who played the role in the first film.

  2. Oh, I am well aware that foreign film revenue often neither tracks with US box office and can make a film a success. I'm  just surprised I hadn't heard of a sequel.
