In 1979, when I graduated high school (!), the cool computer thing was mainframes that allowed a text-based teletype game of "football" to be played.
I'm right now watching my wife play an online MMO game, on the Internet, joined by people around the world, based on Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
Okay, I think the high school grad in me would have voted for this future rather than flying cars.
