We've already had this discussion (http://goo.gl/UJ4Vr), but the GOP leadership is blithely advancing with a conspiracy theory-inspired action to keep federal agencies from buying up all the ammunition in the United States (whether you believe it's gun-control-thru-ammo-control or you believe it's the next step in a federal government war on the citizenry).
So the big question is: are they actually zany enough to believe the theories? Or are they just pandering to some fringe of the base by fomenting more fear and loathing of That Man in the White House?
Also, for a party of Big Business, these guys seem to have little understanding of procurement contracts nor of the laws of supply and demand …

When the NRA says you're nuts…
Well, you're beyond hope, that's what.
I just have to believe that this is more "Let's just stick it to the Administration and look like we're doing something" kind of shenanigans, vs. a threat they actually believe in. I have to believe it because the alternative is way too scary.
But when they base decisions on the crap that they don't really believe and peddle nonsense as if it weren't, what's the difference?
Dad and Betty keep telling me about black shrouded trains they hear about that are carting all the ammo off to parts unknown. "You'd better get some before you can't!" "Dad, I don't even own a gun."
I think I already mentioned that they did an inventory of their own ammo in the house and found a box full of a size shell they don't even have a gun for and dad never remembers having owned one.
Given that SCOTUS is incapable of upholding the constitution to do with guns anyway, why not just act logically, and ban the owning of ammo. You can bear all the arms you like, you just can’t have the bullets.
I think more people should carry swords. If weapons are truly for self defence a sword is more useful up close, where crime takes place.
