A ★★★★ review of GoldenEye (1995)
One of my favorite Bond films, the intro of Pierce Brosnan marks the beginning of the Modern Bond era, after a long post-Dalton hiatus and with the intro of Judi Dench as “M”. The Cold War is over, and we’re back to independent criminal enterprises. Sean Bean’s 006/Janus role is exquisitely well-played, and some of the subtle themes in the Dalton era’s “being a government assassin isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be” are expanded significantly…
Movie Review: "Goldeneye" (1995)
One of my favorite Bond films, which status is reconfirmed on a rewatch.
