Mythbusters don't use nearly enough data points to draw some of the conclusions that they do, but they do try.
I give them a bit of a break, given the size of the experiments they try to run. 🙂
I give them a break considering they make science fun and get kids interested in science.
Oh, good burn on “CSI” and “Bones” but not so much on MB. What’s the last one ?
The PhD strip itself, I believe.
they had an episode on "what wakes you up" where they did slaps, cold water to the face, and caffeine, where they put the caffeine in and then did the slaps and said "wow, slapping improves cognitive performance"
But yes, they do good stuff, and they do the basics of scientific research.
+Patrick Bick agreed. One thing to keep in mind, they cut out a lot from experiments due to editing and having to cram things in 45 mins per episode. So they may have had 2 days in between and we wouldn't know.
I believe they also addressed the data points part at one point as well. I'm pretty sure they normally run several more tests than they actually show on air; they just edit for entertainment purposes.
