Like so many other things in life, it's amazing the history tied up into seemingly innocuous things. I had no idea there was this much cultural controversy behind beards. I've been sporting facial hair of varying lengths since my mid-20's for the main reason being that I hate shaving. The fact that beards are going through a bit of a revival at the moment is mildly amusing to me, but I've had a hairy face long before this trend came back around.
