No, limiting messages to 140 characters is really not a massive hardship keeping Twitter from being a tremendous success. Taut messages and links into more detailed content elsewhere are a mighty powerful combination.
Twitter is not for everybody, any more than Facebook or any other system or social media is. But overpriced stock that gets sold off doesn't mean the underlying company is "in trouble" — it must means that occasionally the market behaves in a rational fashion.
