Bomb 'em all and let the next administration sort 'em out

Or … maybe not.  ISIS (or ISIL, or whatever we're calling them this week) are pretty nasty types, and they could all be hit by pianos from space and I wouldn't lose a bit of sleep. But bombing for the sake of bombing is fairly useless (and usually doesn't thrill a lot of the collaterally bombed folk, either). Before we start deciding who we're actively fighting against, let's consider who we're actually going to be fighting for, and to what end.
