Well, approved to be on the way at my office. Replacing my faithful old Dell Latitude E6400 (which is 2008 tech, though I got mine in early 2010) with a new HP Elitebook Folio 9480m. Aside from the tech specs upgrade, it means dropping the weight from 5.7 to 3.2 lbs., which will be nice.
Alas, it probably won't arrive in time for my trip to Glasgow next weekend, but I'm willing to wait. Well, no, I'm not willing to wait, but I don't have a lot of choice in the matter.
I would +1 this, but an HP? Ick!
(Shrug) The folk who have the previous ones (the 9470s) seem to like them as well as the not=quite-so-lightweight Dells we also have. I guess I'll see, and hope that if it's a lemon I can get creative over resolving it before another 4.5 years pass by.
+Dave Hill Strange that were using the same laptop (the e6400), purchased at the same post-release time. I'm no fan of HP, but I guess consumer laptops aren't all that different, anymore.
+Gary Roth Well, that was the Big Dell Laptop of its era, so it's not wildly surprising. I'm looking forward to an upgrade, though.
