Sliced bread was the greatest thing since ... well, you know

I love a big loaf of crusty bread, and slicing off hunks the thickness I want. But for every day sandwich (or French Toast) making? Yeah, I want it pre-sliced. Here's the history of the bread slicing machine.

Archie Goodwin (the fictional one created by Rex Stout) called it "that god-awful cellophane special." I guess Fritz Brenner's bread would spoil anyone.

Just back from a week-long vacation up into Yellowstone and back down through the plains of SD, WY, NE.

And since we were in Nebraska, and so much brouhaha has been raised of late about #Runza ... we stopped at one to try it out.

I will not say it was life-changing, because it wasn't, but the car consensus is that it was tasty and worth stopping at again in the future ... should we be again in Nebraska.
