Movie Review: "The Caine Mutiny" (1954)

Ah, Captain Queeg and his ball bearings. Triffic stuff, if you ignore the utterly awful "romance interest" tale that frames it.

A ★★★★ review of The Caine Mutiny (1954)
Great actors, multiple Oscar nominations, taut drama, courtroom brilliance — and a bizarrely superfluous romantic subplot involving the least engaging and most wooden member of the cast. The latter detracts mightily from all the former, but it’s still a good movie for all that, with the classic Bogart Captain Queeg routine, complete with rolling ball bearings. Worth a watch.
