Gotta say, if the terrorists wanted to destroy the American way of life with 9/11 and other attacks, they absolutely won.
They gave the most reactionary, anti-democratic, constitution-hating elements of the people in power much more power and now the dialog isn't about being a better nation or even a free one.
It's about how low we can go and how visible the erosion of our ideals and liberties should be.
