Them, Robots

AMC's Humans looks classy, and the Robots/AI/Humans theme, though hardly fresh, is still looking for some serious examination. Also, 8-part series are a nice chunk to digest.

'Set in suburban London, Humans takes place in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly developed, artificially intelligent servant eerily similar to its living counterpart. An adaptation of Swedish series_ Real Humans penned by Brit writing partners Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, the series explores the emotional impact that comes as the lines between humans and machines become increasingly blurred.'

Robot tales are almost always stories examining what it means to be human, and how we categorize and deal with the Other. Except, of course, when they become Monsters of the Week. I'm hoping this is going to be more of the former than the latter.

This also reminds me a lot (at least on the surface) of the comic series Alex + Ada, which has been a great read so far.
