For a guy who's made his governorship about seizing power, dismantling public unions, and turning Wisconsin into the breadbasket of GOP economic Darwinism, he sure seems interested in being seen as an uber-devout conservative Christian.
On the other hand, while I understand it takes a heaping dose of ego for anyone to make it big in politics, let alone run for president … well, maybe it's just me, but it seems the pinnacle of pridefulness to say things like:
'I needed to be certain that running was God’s calling — not just man’s calling. I am certain: This is God’s plan for me and I am humbled to be a candidate for President of the United States.'
(Emphasis mine.)
If Walker were standing on a street corner telling passers-by that God had revealed His plan to him, and that meant that he was being called by God to be the President of the United States … most people would cross the street and avoid eye contact. But when he does it from a podium or in a solicitation for campaign donations … well, that's just a sign of how devout he is.
I have to admit, though: that's a nice-looking campaign logo.
