C-470 does indeed get pretty crowded in the evening (and morning) commute, something I've been mercifully immune to, between time-shifting and light rail usage. I'd much rather see a broader regional tax to cover expansion of the freeway, rather than adding toll lanes, but such lanes have definitely been under discussion for quite some time down in this neck of the woods.
C-470 highway to get toll lanes in $269 million expansion plan – Denver Business Journal
Traffic jams along C-470, which skirts Denver’s southern suburbs, are routine — but relief is coming.
Welcome to our world. I'm actually pretty shocked by this, I thought it was the north side was the only folks to get screwed over like this.
Bonus points for your former employer getting an even bigger cash cow than just 36.
+Stan Pedzick They're not actually in the three shortlisted candidates (though they might be a junior partner in there).
I do know that when I got surveyed by phone about this a year or two back, I made it clear I'd much rather see a regional tax district to fund additional lanes, if it was not to be done directly out of the state highway fund. I also noted a preference for HOV lanes, vs toll lanes.
