Not to take away from the devastation and human suffering going on there — but humans often cope with horror through humor, and these mostly work as commentary around the disaster going on in Texas right now.
(I certainly encourage looking for opportunities to send assistance to folk as the recovery efforts kick in.)
Some of these I know are from previous disasters, but gallows humor doesn’t have to be original. It usually isn’t.

This is actually the first big storm since social media kicked in
Inappropriate humor is one of my coping mechanisms. I try to warn people ahead of time.
+Christine Felixon Katrina was too early for a major social media thing, but I'm pretty sure Sandy was covered pretty widely.
But it is the first big storm since we had a president tweeting about all he was doing about it on an hourly basis.
+Dave Hill A president taking credit for what other people are doing via Twitter.
+Linda Tewes I honestly haven't read enough about what the federal government has actually been doing through all of this to make a judgment on it yet.
