Paul Ryan now sports a beard. I don't think that's been a popular fashion choice in the halls of Congress for … well, decades, at least (and, en masse, closer to a century). Beards have come and gone and come and gone amongst the normal public in that time — are we returning to bearded American politicians, too?
Or is it just that this is the Evil Mirror Universe Paul Ryan, who will bankrupt America by going on a taxing and spending spree, bwah-ha-ha?

It's all part of his long game. When he runs for President again, he'll shave it off and claim to be the "good twin."

Well the thing that you have to understand is, that beards have been a thing for quite some time among the trendy in the States. But you see P.R. is from Wisconsin, so what it takes the current fashions a few years to make it into the land of cheese.
I see it all the time, something will be in vogue in Europe, (the U.K. in this case), then it makes it to N.Y. and L.A.. The next tier for adopting these things will be cities like Chicago and finally about three years later they make start showing up in Wisconsin.
Interestingly in the true back waters of redneck land, you can still see looks from the 70's. Seems sometimes looks get frozen in place.

+Qwerty Uiop That looks lost in limbo it's not 70's but more 90's. I'm not sure where to find that look outside of the interesting combination from some recent Mexican immigrants. They have four buttons open on their shirts (as seen during disco) and what some call the Mexican Mullet hair style. I don't judge them publicly but I do laugh to myself.
Or are they trying out for the NHL
