Google is … selling Motorola?

That seems kind of crazy. I'm pretty sure there's a reason — Google does zany things, and it has gazillions to throw around, but you don't just casually make a decision like this. I'm finding the link to their recent discussions with Samsung to be somewhat persuasive — "We'll stop screwing with the interface, you stop competing with our hardware."

That said, I don't think this changes my mind about the Moto X still being on the short list for my next phone (in a month or two).  There's a lot of crazy in the comments on this article, but I had a Lenovo laptop for some time and never had a problem with it.

I look forward to reading more analysis on this one.

Report: Google Is Selling Motorola to Lenovo for $3 Billion
The New York Times is reporting that Google will sell its Mobility unit to Lenovo for $3 billion. Details are thin, but the Times says a deal should be announced shortly.
