Wow. A short podcast today — which make sense, since it was a short week in terms of really good comics.  There were still a few out there, though, and here’s where I tell you all about them (and with a special announcement at the end of the post and the podcast).

So, alas, I’ll be “dark” the next three weekends, as business and pleasure travel keep me away from the comic book store and the microphone enough to keep the podcast off the air. I should be back in the broadcasting booth, though, on July 15th. Set your calendars and/or your RSS feeds!

A great week for comics, all-around.

I’m not dead yet!

Yeah, two full weeks of business travel, plus another weekend of parental visitation, means it’s been a months since I last did this. Yikes. But I’m back, plowing through 12 inches of comics with aplomb and abandon. And there’s been some great stuff out there to read and catch up on.

And that’s just a scratch on the surface of the backlog … and, of course, there are new comics coming in each week. Whatever shall I do?

Not a heck of a lot of comics out this week, and none of them spectacular — but there are some good ones. Also, there are some new New 52 issues that bear a bit of looking at. And also I manage to talk for 24 minutes; sorry about that. But a big announcement down at the bottom!

I’m on business travel the next couple of weeks, which will impact my comic book purchase timing and ability to prep for this podcast (i.e., read all those comics). So we may be in hiatus a couple of weeks … but will return!

I’m back! I’m podcasting! And, despite the walking pneumonia, I managed to get through the podcast without losing my voice, wheezing too audibly, or breaking into a coughing fit! Excelsior!

Wrapping up my massive holiday backlog.  Last week ran a bit short, but this week I ran long to 20 minutes, and that’s even trimming out some detail (and a lot of mid-range books).  Still, some great comics to talk about.

Back once again after a holiday weeks hiatus, my biggest problem this outing was I had a monstrous stack of comics from my pull box waiting for me. I didn’t manage to get them all read, but I hit the ones I wanted most to go through … and from there, I still had to winnow it down to just the best-of-the-best, the 4- and 5-star winners for the week.

So after this week DDtC is going on holiday hiatus for three weeks, returning the week of 7 January 2012.  Between being away from my Local Comic Store, not to mention my Special Recording Booth at DDtC Studios, it’s just not practical to try and to it.  So enjoy the break, enjoy the holidays, and ponder how I’ll fit a month’s comics into a single DDtC issue when I return!

Short week this week in the pull stack — which is a good thing, since I was sick, got there late, etc. and so forth.  But we had a number of TPBs arrive in the mail this week, too, so those get to be covered, too.
