No Hypotenuse for You!

They’ve shrouded all the diagonal crossing lights in downtown Denver, and have started restriping the crosswalk lines. No more Barnes Dance.

UPDATE: I have no idea if people were confused or simply didn’t spot the autocorrect/misspelling of “Hypotenuse” as “Hypnotenuse.”  Corrected.

Establishing the Photographic Record

While not doing anything quite as cool/’ as Kate’s Picture-of-the-Day project (summarized here), we did take a boatload of photos this year and — with some small exceptions — I now have them all online, including our Disney and Holiday pix.

Woot!

(And many thanks to Margie, Jim and Ginger — and Katherine — for their patience whilst I was obsessing on the matter this Holiday Season.)

Afternoon clouds

Comic-Con pictures are up …

… on our Flickr site.  I took a lot of pictures this year — about half of them made it onto Flickr.  A goodly number of costumes, plus a few from various panels we attended.

Gryffindor!

We got a postcard from Katherine from her Potter-themed Girl Scout camp.

Pictures, pictures, pictures

Denver Zoo

I’ve downloaded and consolidated and edited and cleaned up two new sets of photos, now up in Flickr: March-April of this year, and the Great Closet Caper.

With any luck, this is a harbinger of our actually getting our photo collection more under control. Which would be a good thing, because we didn’t get much done in 2009, I’ll tell you.

Brown Palace Hotel accent

Why Arizona Sandstone may not have been the best choice for decor materials on the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver. This is from ground level at the SW doorway, but a lot of the sandstone accent-work on the 117-year-old building is similarly damaged from the elements. Sad …

16th Street Mall Fountain

I’ve always loved these shallow-depression fountains at various spots along the downtown Denver pedestrian mall. They’ve been mostly off this year, but the other day they seemed to be all running.

Fortune and glory, kid!

A month or so back I was approached by “Schmap,” an online travel guide company, asking if they could use a Flickr picture I’d taken on my downtown rambles of Holy Ghost Church for their Denver guide.

“Sure,” I said, indicating how I wanted the credit.

And there it is.

Keen.
