Dave’s Margaritas

Dave makes the BEST margaritas evah!

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts Tequila
  • 2 parts lime juice
  • 1 part Triple sec
  • 1 part simple syrup

Directions:

  1. Mix and pour over ice or
  2. Blend with ice and serve

Serves:  Really???? Who knows!

Note: To make simple syrup heat 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar until the sugar is dissolved.  Will keep in the refrigerator for a long time.

Cappuccino Mix

Delicious as is and better with a splash of brandy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 c hot cocoa mix
  • 2 c powdered coffee creamer
  • 1 c freeze dried instant coffee
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix ingredients well.
  2. Store in tight container.
  3. To serve use 3-4 tsp per mug of mix and add hot water.

Serves:  about 150 cups

Reception Punch

Quick, easy, cheap and good.  Perfect for a spring/summer shower or wedding.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle champagne
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c fresh lemon juice
  • 2 c apple juice
  • 2 c orange juice

Directions:

  1. Chill champagne at least 4 hours.
  2. Combine other ingredients.
  3. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Chill well.
  5. Just before serving, add champagne.

Serves:  About 20

Champagne Orange Punch

A simple, tasty punch for a crowd.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 6 oz frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 1/2 quarts ice water
  • 1 large bottle California champagne
  • orange slices

Directions:

  1. In the punch bowl, dilute orange juice and lemonade concentrates with 1 1/2 quarts of ice water.
  2. Just before serving add well chilled champagne.
  3. Garnish with orange slices.

Serves:  About 30

Mudslides

Just a wonderful nightcap/dessert!  The adult milkshake.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz        Kahlua
  • 8 oz        rum
  • 1/2 gal   chocolate ice cream

Directions:

1. Place liquor in blender.
2. Add small portion of ice cream.
3. Blend.
4. Add rest of ice cream in 2 batches.

Serves: 6-8

For single serving:  1 oz Kahlua, 2 oz rum, 2 c ice cream

Notes:  Infinite variations are possible, ie. Amaretto with vanilla ice cream (avalanche), Drambue with chocolate or vanilla ice cream (Loc Ness), Tia Maria with chocolate ice cream (Revolution),  etc.

Long Island Ice Tea – Party Quanity

Ingredients:                                                                Party Quantities

  • 1 part vodka                                                                      1 pint
  • 1 part gin                                                                             1 pint
  • 1 part white rum                                                               1 pint
  • 1 part white tequila                                                          1 pint
  • 1 part triple sec                                                                 1 pint
  • 8 part bar sweet and sour mix                                     2 1.75 liters
  • 4 part Coke                                                                       5 12oz cans
  • Lemon wedges for garnish
  • ice

Directions:

  1. Premix the 5 pints of liquor and re-bottle.
  2. At party, put one bottle of premixed liquor into pitcher.
  3. Add 22 oz of bar sweet and sour mix.
  4. 1 can of coke.
  5. Mix.
  6. Pour in tall glass filled with cracked ice.
  7. Make an additional pitcher when previous one is empty.

Serves: Depends . . . .

Homemade Eggnog Coffee Creamer

Use the other ¾ cup in the eggnog cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 qt – minus 3/4 c eggnog
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 Tab rum or whiskey or 1 tsp rum flavor extract

Directions:

  1. Open up eggnog container and remove 3/4 cup of eggnog.
  2. Add vanilla to remaining eggnog in the carton.
  3. Added nutmeg.
  4. Added rum or whiskey.
  5. Shake it up.
  6. Refrigerate

Serves: Makes slightly less than 1 quart

Cheyenne Mulled Cider

This is a good ENAB (Equally Attractive Alcoholic Beverage) for winter parties.  Not to say you could not add rum or bourbon.

Ingredients:

  • 2 qts unpasteurized apple cider
  • 1 3 inch cinnamon stick
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 navel orange, peeled and sliced crosswise
  • 1 2 inch piece of peeled fresh ginger, cut into 6 slices

Directions:

  1. Combine cider, cinnamon, cloves, orange and ginger in sauce pan.
  2. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Strain through fine sieve into a heat proof pitcher, crock pot, or metal punch bowl.
  4. Serve warm.

Serves: 15 punch cups
