Before my wife and I went to war (only one campaign for us also), we were visited by two propaganda outfits – La Leche League, and the Lamaze people themselves who were running the class at which La Leche League appeared. Unfortunately for them, we resisted the propaganda.
I'm 7 months into my first tour. The excited part wore off a long time ago. I love it, would do it again, and would never change it. But it's a lot of work!
+David Newman Nah. After all, some folk come back from war saying they never felt so alive …
The bottom line is that parenting can be hellaciously hard work, far more (esp. if you're doing it "right") than people realize. (Sort of like marriage, as far as that goes.) The rewards (when you can see them) can be even bigger.
WWII arguably ushered in the greatest and most prosperous era in world history — but someone who fought as a grunt realizes it wasn't all skittles and beer, even if it was overall worth it..

+Jon Weber Yup!
So far, at least for us, it has gotten easier and easier. More of a police action now. Or even just plain old peace-keeping.
😝
Comparing this to the happiness spigot comic from a few days ago … Something doesn't seem to add up. 😀

Sorry, getting too deep here …
I'm not going to volunteer!
Sometimes people are drafted.
Yeah, I don't think I have to worry about that. I'm 4-F. 🙁
