It’s the end of the line for Miss Cleo, the Caribbean-sounding psychic who’s a staple of late night television. FTC suits against the parent companies of various Miss Cleo fronts have led those companies to pull the plug on the lady.
In some way it’s a shame, since certainly her persona came across (usually) as no-nonsense advice to “kick de bum out!” and “face up to what you’ve been doing, mon!” But the array of charges against the companies that were using the Miss Cleo (a/k/a Youree Dell Harris) indicate that somebody ought to have known that this end was coming.
